Binding Trick

Here is a tip that I come up with recently.  If your machine has a knee lift you can use it to hold your binding on a roll while you sew it onto a quilt.  It keeps the binding in check and doesn't wind up all over the floor and tangled up.

Give it a try, you'll love it.
Hope you have a great day quilting,
Shelia

This is a very clever idea!

I'd also love to ask what you think of your machine? I happen to be in the market and am looking at purchasing a 6500 or 6600. I've been out shopping this week, and can't resist asking if you love yours.

There is a lighter, less expensive Janome on the market now (3160) which is tempting, but I really think I have my heart set on the 6500/6600. For one thing, it has the knee lift (which the 3160 doesn't) and I now know a spiffy new trick for holding binding rolls! Ha! :)

Brooke,
I love the machine. Of course it does so much more than I have used so far. But I think it is great! I had my previous Pfaff for 17 years and sewed the crap out of it, I think I will get many years out of this Janome also. Have fun shopping.
